This initiative is a joint effort by Stichting Afvalfonds Verpakkingen (Packaging Waste Fund Foundation), Statiegeld Nederland (DRS-operator in the Netherlands), and Rotterdam The Hague Airport, all committed to increase the recycling of used bottles and cans. As part of their mission, they are actively working to install new RVMs, to increase the number of collecting points in the Netherlands. According to Wilma van Dijk, Director of Rotterdam The Hague Airport, “This project supports the goal of a completely waste-free airport by 2030 and will be an example blueprint for other busy locations in the near future”.
The outstanding design of the Envipco Flex machine with clear and user-friendly instructions
Envipco was chosen as the key partner to supply the RVM for Rotterdam The Hague Airport. This offers passengers a convenient way to return their empty deposit bottles and cans just before they take off. The Envipco Flex machine is the perfect choice because it is a small machine, but yet holds a large number of PET bottles and Cans due to the state-of-the-art compaction technology. Next to this, users can choose to receive an electronic refund via the Tikkie payment app or donate the refund to ‘Jarige Job Foundation’. Jarige Job enables over 100,000 children each year to celebrate their birthdays.
The machine stands at a prominent location, ready to collect used bottles and cans from passengers.
This installation represents a significant milestone for Envipco, demonstrating their commitment to create a cleaner world for future generations by supporting recycling convenience and making it more accessible for everyone.
